Australia now has a new Foreign Minister. His name is Senator Bob Carr. Long time Member of The Australian Labor Party Mr Carr replaces Kevin Rudd.MP. A Senate vacancy following the surprise resignation of NSW Senator Mark Arbib led Bob Carr to be nominated for the casual vacancy of the Senate that the Mark Arbib resignation caused. THe Senate members are elected for eight years so any resignation is traditionally replaced by the party which currently holds the seat in this case The Labor Party. Bob Carr is very familiar with American history.

Rather it is the party itself which chooses it's leader. Nevertheless Rudd was prolific worker. Rudd's passion to consume work kept a manic pace. Known as Kevin07. Kevin was constantly Zipping from one Zip Code to another as Foreign Minister. Often he would say "That's all Folks! I gotta zip!"
